Metro Pain Group presented with the prestigious Excellence in Pain Practice Award for a further 5 years
The World Institute of Pain (WIP), the global institute for the advancement of physician education, training and certification in pain medicine recently honoured Metro Pain Group with the highly-esteemed Excellence in Pain Practice (EPP) Award in the category of Clinical Pain Practice Specialising in Musculoskeletal Pain Syndromes.
Metro Pain Group has been a recipient of the award for consecutive years since its inauguration in 2011 and remains as the only practice in Australasia to receive the prestigious award to date.
The Excellence in Pain Practice Award program for pain centres was introduced by WIP in 2011 to recognise pain centres that voluntarily submit to an assessment by the institute. Pain centres are evaluated for excellence in clinical practice, education, training, cutting-edge research, and the impact of the centre at the local, national, and international level. Through its network of EPP Award pain centres, WIP aims to broaden the scope and reach of physician-to-physician collaboration.
Aside from Metro Pain Group receiving the award, 3 of our doctors: Dr Paul Verrills, Dr Bruce Mitchell & Dr Neels DuToit are also Fellows of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP). The FIPP certification was introduced by the World Institute of Pain® (WIP) in 2001 to certify qualified physicians in the field of pain medicine who perform interventional techniques. The certification process employs practice-based assessment criteria to encourage and formally recognise physicians who meet the knowledge and skill requirements of the WIP Board of Examination and to serve the public by encouraging quality patient care in the practice of pain medicine.
As leaders in pain management, Metro Pain Group will welcome the new year with new initiatives to continue delivering the highest standard of patient care and empowering patients to Live Better.
