Telehealth – A Technological Revolution in Healthcare
While the amount of change we have undergone as a society in the last few months is nothing short of overwhelming, we are choosing to focus on the positive aspects and the things that we can control. One of those positives is the technological revolution in healthcare. We asked one of our practitioners, Jennifer Pixley-Dawson (pictured), what she thought about Telehealth.
Here’s what she had to say:
“Probably the most valuable thing about Telehealth is the way it has increased accessibility to pain services for people living with severe pain. Many people living in these circumstances have limited resources and ability to travel so Telehealth breaks down a huge barrier to seeking treatment.
The second most valuable thing about Telehealth is that when patients are required to attend the clinic, we have already gathered a thorough history and developed a potential treatment plan so that treatments can be down in a more efficient manner, most often on the same day.”
