Chronic Abdominal Pain – Dr Vishal Bhasin

Chronic Abdominal Pain is pain in the abdominal area which persists for 3 months or longer. It can be intermittent or episodic, meaning it may come and go. Often, people with chronic abdominal pain also experience symptoms such as bloating, cramping and/or irregular bowel habits.

There are a number of different causes for chronic abdominal pain, such as irritable bowel syndrome, stomach ulcers, endometriosis and many more. Some people may not have a clear diagnosis, despite being under expert care, however their pain is still very real.

Metro Pain Group are leaders in the field of pain management and offer a wide range of treatments for pain conditions. One of the ways we focus on providing effective treatments is to first create a comprehensive history of a patient’s pain, which may indicate where pain may be arising from.

Treatment for chronic abdominal pain may be assisted by advanced minimally invasive techniques such as precise nerve blocks, Pulsed Radiofrequency (PRF) or in cases where a patient may still feel pain, a more advanced technique known as Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) may be used. Spinal Cord Stimulation includes an implantable device which may be compared to a pacemaker. These treatments can help with patients’ pain as well as its associated symptoms.

Don’t live with chronic abdominal pain.
